Why Does Assisted Passing and Finishing Feel Different in FC 27?

My passing and finishing feel really different depending on the mode. Sometimes I aim at a player and the ball goes somewhere that makes me question my thumbs. Before the "game is scripted" replies arrive, are there assistance settings I should compare first?

I'm using the same controller, so I'm wondering whether I changed something without noticing or whether I'm just having a terrible evening.

Check the actual passing and shooting assistance options in your controller settings. Don't compare a match from memory; write the settings down and test one change at a time.

Could also be the angle and body position. I blame the game for everything until I watch the replay and discover I was facing the corner flag.

Try a few practice situations with the same players and conditions. It won't prove every issue, but at least you'll separate a settings change from random match-to-match variation.

Also make sure you didn't accidentally switch controller profiles. Happened to me and I spent an hour blaming the striker.

If the same problem happens across modes and survives a settings check, then look for an official known-issues note or report it with useful details.
