EA Account Locked, Suspended, or Banned: What's the Difference?

Closed thread Closed by archive

People keep using "locked," "suspended," and "banned" like they all mean the same thing. If an FC 27 player can't log in, what's the first thing they should check before trying random fixes?

Also, are third-party account workflow tools actually a substitute for an official appeal, or are they just a way to organize information? I'd rather not make a bad situation worse.

They're not the same. A lock can be a security step; a suspension is usually temporary; a ban can last much longer or be permanent. Read the actual notice instead of guessing.

The official starting point is EA's Penalty History tool. It'll show relevant penalty details and whether the appeal option is available.

A workflow tool might help you organize notes or documents, but it can't guarantee EA changes a decision. It's not an official EA service unless EA says it is.

Please don't give a third party your password or one-time codes because they promise "instant unban." That is a huge risk.

And keep the appeal factual. Don't spam support or invent an explanation. That can make the whole thing messier.
